One reason for sync issues is because OneNote uses different default locations for the Quick Notes section on different platforms. I order sections in the notebook using drag and drop in the Windows app, but the order is not reflected using Web or mobile apps.Fix Quick Notes sync across Windows, Android and iOS. My sections and data are synced, but the order of the notebook sections appear is not synced. Right now, the problem I'm looking at is a special case of syncing, in case anyone has any info. I'll keep testing, since the added functionality of OneNote over Keep seems worth it. Sometimes, mobile connections speeds may be 200 Kbps for some people. I expect OneNote files to be larger due to functionality it supports that Keep doesn't (like Keep is on plain text, very limited formatting options, etc). After all, they have options for "Sync Notebook Now" and "See sync status" which are workarounds for problems they know exist but haven't dedicated time to solve them.Īnother consideration is the internet speed we have for each device. I don't have the info about the trigger conditions and order for operations, but it wouldn't surprise me syncing on each device would have a time schedule to check for changes and syncing, So, we might check on a device quickly while it's changes are not synced yet. The master data may be on the server, but the devices may be reading and writing from there or syncing a local copy and then reading that. Now, on OneNote, OneDrive is involved adding a bit more complexity. So, it's a browser or app refresh which can go quickly. Keep syncs instantly between phone and PC browser, but I figure it's easier because both are reading the same data on Google's server.

I see there is a considerable delay in syncing between devices, but I can give MS some slack.

I started testing OneNote to see if it would be better for me than Google Keep.
